研究生 "高级景观设计学"
北京大学景观规划设计中心每年都要邀请数名国外学者来华访问，一般多为欧美国家景观设计学的权威或者活跃的学术带头人。为了充分发挥这些访问学者的作用，经学校研究生院批准同意，从今年开始将每年请这些来华学者开设"高级景观设计学"(英文名：Advanced
Landscape Architecture)研究生课程，以推动景观设计学学科在北大和中国的发展。
高级景观设计学将结合被邀请学者所在国家地区的具体经验、个人专长，通过介绍各国景观设计学的学科发展历史、实践情况、重要概念、研究进展、研究方法和学科展望等，拓展研究生在这一领域的知识和能力。
高级景观设计学为1个学分，讲课语言为英语，总学时数为20学时，讲课不低于12学时，其余学时为作业、讨论与实践。考试方式为考勤、讨论、作业与论文4个方面综合评定，作业和论文占总成绩的比例不低于60％，整个教学期间无故缺席两次(4学时)不再做成绩考核。具体考核办法与任课教师协商提前确定。
为了保证教学质量，听课人数将控制在30～40人左右，校内博士和硕士研究生、校外持听课证的人员优先。请有意选修本课程的人员到逸夫二楼3752找高毅坚老师办理选课登记手续，校外人员须到校研究生院缴费并办理听课证才能获得学分和听课证。也可以通过电子信件的方式选课。
本年度准备请斯洛文尼亚卢布尔亚纳大学Davorin Gazvoda教授执行。授课时间在5月27日到6月10日之间，一般为下午和晚上上课。具体上课时间将根据任课老师和选课学生要求综合确定，并在开课前通知登记的人员。请在办理选课登记手续时，告知授课时间的特殊要求。
请于5月20日前办理选课登记手续。
为了统一研究生教学管理，课程的成绩和学分将记入开课时间所在教学学期的下一个学期。据此，本次开课的学分和成绩将列入2002～2003学年第一学期的研究生课程中。

TOPICS
Program: Advanced Landscape
Architecture
Duration: 1 semester, 20 hours
Pedagogical objectives
This course is intended to be an overview
of basic as well as of specific landscape design topics. Students
are expected to learn about various approaches in landscape design
emphasizing strong theoretical background.
Course Overview
The primary objective is intended
to be an introduction of foreign / visiting lecturers in landscape
architecture program in order to present various international methods
in landscape design.
References
Readings refer to design theory and
particularly to the chosen topics by individual lecturer who provides
selected material for students.
Requirements
Students must present a sketch problem
on selected topic. They can use their studio project or any other
interesting open space problem they can work out theoretically as
well practically (using basic drawings, sketches). A short written
paper explaining "the sketch problem" is considered to be
a final exam for a final grade.

Course Overview - Selected Topics:
1. (LANDSCAPE) DESIGN PROCESS: Design
problem starting, working methods, analysis, defining a program
for final design, basic social parameters in open space design and
the importance of ecological and other spatial parameters are main
topics of this lecture.
2. URBAN LANDSCAPE: Definitions of urban landscape,
urban open space, green space, the role and importance of urban
open spaces vis-à-vis architectural, built space.
3. PERSISTENT URBAN LANDSCAPES: Physical appearance
and resistance of open spaces inside cities, persistence, social
and spatial persistent urban landscapes.
4. SOCIAL CHARACTER OF URBAN OPEN SPACE: Continuing
the persistent urban landscape theory", changes of urban open
space through time, social character of urban open space, civic
spaces.
5. "NEIGHBORHOODS' GREEN SPACE":
Design of open space in neighborhoods, functional aspects, social
aspects, structure and quality design of green spaces.
6. URBAN PUBLIC OPEN SPACE: Overview of selected
examples of city (central) parks and other specific open spaces
inside cities and on their edges.
Lectures takes approximately two hours, the
rest of the time is reserved for sketch problems presented by students,
comments and discussions.
